Strategic and Action Planning

A good plan needs to be well planned; from member or stakeholder surveys, to facilitated planning sessions, to print ready strategic planning documents.

The Balance Group uses facilitation methods from:

  • "Technology of Participation, Focusing Collective Power for Change" (The Institute of Cultural Affairs in the USA)
  • "Public Dispute Resolution" (The Institute of Government, UNC Chapel Hill), and
  • Public participation forums for urban planning processes

Experience we bring to composing your plan documentation:

  • Strategic Plans reviewed by staff and approved by boards of directors
  • Personal participation in organizations as; Board President, board member, committee and task force chairpersons, volunteers
  • Participation in environmental impact review processes and documentation
  • Comprehensive land use planning at the local governmental level

Our multiple repeat clients for this service inspire us to keep honing these skill sets.

We would be pleased to address your needs.

After decades as a land use planner, Diane Korte chose to take the skills she had acquired facilitating community-wide comprehensive planning, multi-disciplinary review of environmental impacts and development plans to a different playing field.  Respectfully stepping away from being a bureaucrat, she helps others to tie bows out of red tape.

Great job, thanks to Diane and Larry on the strategic plan. It looks great on the KMHI website.

Conference Sessions

Often the members of one organization have a powerful impact on the success of the members of another organization.  A priority of our clients is to increase the mutual respect and quality of their working relationships with other groups.  The Balance Group supports the identification of these connections and creates strategies for building healthy relationships. For groups involved with land use or housing issues; we propose conference sessions, design Power Points and handouts, assemble panels, coach presenters and moderate conference sessions.
